day-1

Abu Dhabi Science Festival volunteer
In the first day on the 13th of October 2014, I have volunteered to visit the science festival fair which will be located in Abu Dhabi and held on November. The core and leading objective of this undertaken volunteering is to service, support and demonstrate brief facts and knowledge to children through science aspects and illustrate how to basically correlate between science experiments and blend it with entertainment.

Moreover, we invited the science festival crew member to arise and display to our group by what means we could generate an experimentation, and then what are the procedures we should rely on to insure that it is harmless and appropriate for children.

The selected experiment was simply a combination between ordinary tap water and tablets pills named by “ALKA”.  The process of this experiment is mainly done by accumulation one centimeter of tap water into a small medical tube. Then afterward, cautiously supply a single pill (ALKA) and mount it inside the tube, after that close the tube securely and vibrate it by human energy. Then, the next stage is to turn over the tube and lay it against a flat surface, and then the chemical reaction would undertake an effect and thrust away the tube to send it into the air.

- Creating children waiting area.

– Exercise #5

Have a look at this page on the internet:http://www.worldvolunteerweb.org/browse/sectors/education.html
This page has some ideas about how people can volunteer through education projects.
Once you have read through the pages, you need to work in groups of 4 or 5.
In your groups, come up with a project which you think can be advanced through an educational setting. There are no restrictions, but your idea should be innovative and should aim at adding real value to the people you are trying to help.
As you are working through your project, one of you should be putting together a short presentation (Powerpoint, etc) to explain to the rest of the group what you are trying to achieve.
You should aim to cover the following points, at least.
